Our friend Finley will be starting a new school in September. To send him off, we decided to have a party! The children thought of some games they wanted to play and what the theme should be. In the end, it was a superhero party with areas to design your own masks, colour in heroes, play 'pin the cape on the Batman' and they had a squash station to make their own drinks. Finley's mum very kindly made some party bags and they loved playing pass the parcel before seeing what was in them! It has been a lovely day for the children and so nice to see them thinking of their own ways to say goodbye to their friend. We'll miss you Finley and send you all our best wishes!

The Great Fire of London
Over the past week, the children have been learning all about the Great Fire of London. They began the topic by using non-fiction books to answer questions. As they learned more, the children became very interested and helped to decide on some activities that we could do, linked to our learning. First, they made our classroom into Pudding Lane - complete with an oven and a stray coal!
As well as this, the children enjoyed going outside to try the old firefighting methods! They stood in lines and had to pass buckets from the 'Thames' to the 'burning buildings.
Most recently, the children made their own chef hats and had a go at baking - a must do when your classroom is Pudding Lane!
Have a lovely week (:
