Money

This week we have been looking at the story 'the dragon machine' in literacy. We decided that we would have a go at making our own 'dragon machines' using levers and sliders. We planned our products and decided what we would need to make them and considered on our plans whether to use a lever or a slider depending on how we wanted it to move. We made a list of things we would need to have available.

Today, all of the items we put on our product plans appeared in the class shop! We had to use coins to buy what we needed for our projects and took turns to be shopkeeper, recording the money we were given. We had to choose the right coins carefully and some of us began thinking about how much it would cost to buy more than one of the same thing using our mental times tables. A few of us even thought about change giving!
